Compatibility Settings in WPtouch Pro 4

Shortcodes

The "Process theme shortcodes" option processes your content for desktop shortcodes before display to visitors. WPtouch Pro will not load JavaScript or CSS from your desktop theme. You will need to load those using the Analytics > Custom field.

Filter out shortcodes -  allows you to deactivate any of your desktop theme's shortcodes in your mobile theme or from a shortcodes plugin. Enter the name of a shortcode and click the "+" sign. Do not add other punctuation. Your desktop theme will remain unaffected and the remaining shortcodes will remain functioning in your mobile theme.

Caching

Stop sending "no cache" request headers for mobile site. - By default WPtouch requests that mobile pages are not cached. This helps prevent the mobile site from being served to desktop users and the desktop site from being served to mobile users.

Active Plugins

WPtouch Pro has a one-of-a-kind feature: the ability to disable plugins in your mobile theme while leaving your desktop theme's plugin functionality unchanged. WPtouch Pro automatically detects and displays the active plugins in your WordPress installation. By default all WordPress plugins are activated in your mobile theme. You may choose to disable plugins that detract from an optimal mobile experience or that are incompatible with WPtouch Pro.

We offer a non-exhaustive list of known incompatibilities you may use for reference.

The WordPress Plugins tool allows you to attempt one-click deactivation of your plugins in your mobile theme. Because every plugin is structured differently, some require their functions to be individually deactivated within WPtouch Pro. For more information, see Deactivating Plugins in Your Mobile Theme

Custom Post Support

This option will appear if your WordPress installation has available custom post types to enable in WPtouch Pro. When enabled, the custom post types will be displayed in the main blog post listings.

Video Handling

Use FitVids to automatically scale video - FitVids is a small JavaScript helper that will detect videos from a variety of web sources and automatically scale them to fill the container and format them with the correct aspect ratio.

Filter URLs

If you are using a desktop theme from Headway themes or another theme requiring a trailing slash at the end of the URL, please make sure to also add it to the Filter URLs field. E.g. /about/

All URLs on my site - Selecting this option allows all URLs to load using the WPtouch Pro theme for mobile visitors.

All URLs/pages except - Select this option and add URLs for pages you wish to exclude in WPtouch Pro. Excluded URLs will load using the desktop theme for mobile visitors.

Only these URLs/pages - Select this option and add URLs for pages you wish to show in WPtouch Pro mode to mobile visitors. All other URLs/pages will load using the desktop theme.

Rather than using absolute file paths, use relative URLs such as
/about
  or
/products/store

where "/about" is http://www.yourdomain.com/about and "/products/store" is http://www.yourdomain.com/products/store.

Note that excluded URLs will continue to appear in the WPtouch Pro menu and other areas where those links exist, but they'll load using the desktop theme for mobile visitors.

Custom User Agents

This option allows you to add support for additional devices. For additional information, see Custom User Agents.
